Who's Who

The affairs of WFWI are run by the Board of Trustees who are elected by the members biannually. Ours is a large Federation and it takes a lot of time, effort and dedication to keep things running smoothly. All of the members of our committees are volunteers. If you would like to get in touch with any of them please contact WI House.

We also have two paid employees who deal with all our administration; full details are on our WI House page.

WI Certificate courses are arranged for those members who wish to further their skills. A Home Economics and Craft Rally is held every year. Day schools on Drawing, Painting, Calligraphy etc are usually scheduled between October and April. During the summer, Painting Days are arranged at interesting places. Outings to Art Exhibitions, Art and Art History Lectures etc. are all arranged at different times.

  LEISURE & PLEASURE

  Chairman: Janet Murphy

We emphasise the FUN in FUNdraising and raise monies to help run the Federation. We arrange a variety of interesting and fun outings, holidays and events. Sales of WI County calendars, diaries and gifts also augment income.

  PERFORMING ARTS

  Chairman: Judy Neale

Music and Drama are important aspects of many WIs. The Sub-committee organises events large and small, such as competitive Music and Drama Festivals, the Annual Carol Concert, Pantomimes or Pageants. Regular Drama and Music days are held and members can use the Drama Wardrobe and small Library.

  PUBLIC AFFAIRS

  Chairman: Val Durnall

We keep members informed on matters of public concern that affect our everyday life. WI has representatives on many outside bodies to make sure our voice is heard. Events are organised on Health, Consumer Affairs, International Matters and Science Topics and follow up work is done on resolutions passed at National and County meetings.
